Welcome from the Mayor of Woodville

As mayor of the City of Woodville, Texas, I welcome each of you to visit and enjoy the many outstanding qualities of life in Woodville, as well as Tyler County. Not only is Woodville a great place to visit, but it’s a truly wonderful place to live and raise a family. With the quality of life attributes Woodville possesses, our city is a splendid choice for retirement.

Tony Castillo

Woodville, located in the heart of Tyler County, serves as the county seat and is the crossroads of Southeast Texas. Highways 69 and 190 cross at the main intersection of the city and provide direct access to larger cities such as Beaumont, Lufkin, Livingston and Jasper. While one can enjoy down-home, small-town friendliness, larger more urban areas are less than an hour away. Woodville is home to Tyler County Hospital, The Tyler County Chamber of Commerce, Tyler County Vocational Nursing Program, The Woodville Dialysis Clinic, The Heritage Village, Alan Shivers Library, Dogwood Hills Country Club, Tyler County Justice Center, The Tyler County Art League and many other venues which support recreation, education, medical care, emergency services and a rich heritage.

Woodville is proud to be host to many festivals and celebrations held throughout the year, which include The Dogwood Festival, Western Weekend, Christmas in Tyler County, Tyler County Trade Days & Music Festival, The Harvest Festival, The Tyler County Fair, a Celebration of Black History Month and many other events. Local civic organizations such as The Woodville Lions Club, The Rotary Club, The Tyler County Historical Commission, The Tyler County Heritage Society, The Tyler County Art League and many others provide recreational events such as fish fries, gumbo dinners, art classes and Mexican dinners throughout the year. There is certainly not a lack of fellowship and entertainment opportunities provided during the year.

On behalf of the City of Woodville, I would like to invite you to come to our special town either to visit or with plans to relocate. Come enjoy the friendly people, the celebrations and festivals, the small-town charm and the absence of urban hassle.
