On behalf of the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, I would like to extend our warmest welcome!

McLean is an area of Fairfax County where there is a warm and heartfelt “family” atmosphere. We are a unique portion of Fairfax County that boasts two of the largest regional shopping malls in the Washington metropolitan area, as well as a picturesque central business center that houses locally owned and operated businesses. The central business center is part of a revitalization area in Fairfax County, and over the last several years, there have been huge strides in achieving the goals set when the project was started. The McLean central business district has a new face — including new construction of the Staybridge Suites and the multi-use Palladium at McLean complex to anchor our new “Main Street,” facelifts on the Giant Shopping Center and Salona Village Center, new streetscape and brick sidewalks with more in the works, and further new construction planned. The last eight years in the central business district have been a time of excitement and pleasure, as those of us who have worked hard to enhance the quality of life in McLean realize the fruits of our labor.

McLean also hosts a wealth of opportunities for families moving to the area. ,We have some of the finest public and private schools in the country, a local theater and art gallery, a wide-ranging public library system, numerous houses of worship, and a local orchestra and symphony. We also offer a remarkable array of sports and recreational facilities, both public and private, with programs for youth and adults. The Fairfax County Park Authority provides eight major parks, eight public recreation centers, seven public golf courses, and nine nature and historical sites (www.co.fairfax.va.us/parks). In McLean proper, we also have Lewinsville Park with multiple sports fields, the McLean Central Park (which has just been revitalized) and Clemyjontri Park, a park (due to open in the summer of 2005) where children with and without disabilities can play side by side.

The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce takes pride in being a part of the greater McLean community and doing our part to support the businesses in McLean, as well as provide community activities for the residents and recognition for public servants. If you are considering moving your business and/or your family to the greater McLean area, don’t hesitate to contact us for information and referrals for all your needs. We can be reached by telephone at 703-356-5424 or through our website at www.mcleanchamber.org. Our website also offers a calendar of events and direct access to our almost 400 members. If you are in the area, come and visit us at our new offices, located at The Palladium at McLean in the middle of the central business center.

So, come join us in the best place to live and work on the entire East Coast. We look forward to welcoming you into our family.
