Sentara Healthcare – Sentara Healthcare has certainly grown from its start as a 25-bed hospital in Norfolk in 1888. Today, the system operates more than 100 sites, including: seven acute care hospitals, nine outpatient centers, seven nursing centers, three assisted living centers, nine advanced imaging centers and the Sentara Medical Group, which is equipped with 380 primary and multi-specialty care physicians.

For patient comfort, Sentara CarePlex Hospital features 224 private patient rooms spacious enough to accommodate visitors and equipped with Internet access and entertainment options. An outpatient pharmacy makes prescription pick -up more convenient for patients and family members upon discharge from the emergency department or inpatient stays.

Other features include specialized services in cardiac, vascular and urologic care, along with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, a hospitalist program and one of the state’s busiest emergency departments.

Sentara CarePlex Hospital’s distinctions include:
• Participant in the Sentara Cancer Network, the only accredited cancer network program in Virginia.

Sentara CarePlex Hospital operates an outpatient campus in Newport News, called Sentara Port Warwick.
