In Seattle, Harborview Medical Center serves as the trauma-receiving center for all of Western Washington, as well as portions of British Columbia and southern Alaska. The campus is undergoing a major expansion to meet the needs of the community for the next decade and beyond. The new $125 million South Tower features a 104-bed facility including a 40-bed Emergency and Trauma Center, a critical care unit, additional operating rooms, additional medical/surgical beds and underground parking.

Overlake serves the community and the region with a network of medical centers in Bellevue, Issaquah and Mercer Island. A 24-hour Urgent Care facility in Issaquah serves the growing healthcare needs of residents near the I-90 corridor.

Group Health Bellevue Medical Center

Group Health is building an innovative, state-of-the-art comprehensive medical center for Group Health members in East King County. The nearly 200,000-square-foot medical center will be located in the heart of Bellevue, next to the Overlake Hospital Medical Center campus. Patients will have access to more than 20 specialty services, including surgery, urgent care and radiology by summer 2008.

Evergreen Healthcare

Evergreen Healthcare serves more than 400,000 people throughout east King and south Snohomish counties with a breadth of services and programs that are among the most comprehensive in the region. Its cornerstone is the 244-bed Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in Kirkland, which provides all acute, surgical and emergency care. More than 800 physicians, representing more than 50 medical specialties, provide clinical excellence in all major services including oncology, cardiology and state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging.

University of Washington Medicine

As a nationally recognized healthcare system, University of Washington (UW) Medicine provides the most complete patient care, scientific research and physician training in the Pacific Northwest.

The system includes Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, the UW Medical Center, UW Physicians, UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics and the UW School of Medicine.

UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics provide primary care in Factoria (Bellevue), Issaquah and Woodinville. The clinics house family physicians with obstetrics, internal medicine, pediatrics and geriatrics.

Valley Medical Center

To meet the needs of a growing community, Valley Medical Center in Renton expanded to become a top-flight medical facility. The hospital serves Eastside residents from south Bellevue,

Newcastle, Tukwila and Renton, as well as cities in Kent Valley.

Today, the Valley Medical Center in Renton takes its place as one of the best hospitals in the region. The hospital is affiliated with the cancer clinic at Swedish Hospital and helped establish the Valley Breast Center as one of the nation’s preeminent facilities specializing in women’s healthcare.

In 2002, Valley opened its Joint Replacement Center to provide a community atmosphere for surgery and rehabilitation in one facility. The center has occupational therapists to help patients recover and return to their daily lives.

Swedish Medical Center

Swedish Medical Center is the largest, most comprehensive healthcare facility in the Pacific Northwest. Swedish also includes Swedish Home Care Services and Swedish Physicians, a network of primary-care clinics. On the Eastside, Swedish has a primary-care clinic at Pine Lake/Sammamish and a pediatric specialty care clinic in Bellevue/Crossroads. The Swedish/Issaquah campus has a freestanding emergency room, a primary-care clinic and a sleep-medicine clinic and laboratory.

Virginia Mason Medical Center

Staffed by physicians and nurses who are trained to understand a child’s emotional, physical and developmental needs, Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center Eastside in Bellevue brings the same pediatric specialists and services as its main facility in Seattle. Located in the Overlake Medical Tower in Bellevue, the Eastside Clinic offers an after-hours clinic and 10 distinct specialties.
