Welcome

Welcome

WELCOME to Woodinville, Washington—a charming, scenic community situated within the heart of Washington State’s booming wine industry. The casual lifestyle and natural beauty discovered in Woodinville is ideal for residential living and tourist endeavors, and its strategic location near Bellevue and downtown Seattle have established it as an attractive place for business development.

The first family, the Woodins, arrived in current-day Woodinville by the 1870s, settling down along the Squak Slough (now known as the Sammamish River). Lumber mills and logging served as the main employers in the settlement’s early days, as the region was covered with thick forested areas. Growth and development was spurred in the area with the coming of the Northern Pacific Railroad.

Shops, saloons, roads and bridges began springing up around the railroad depot in Woodinville, followed by the establishment of the community’s first post office and school. Prominent businesses, such as the DeYoung family’s Woodinville Mercantile Company and the Molbak family’s first nursery, chose to set up shop here in the early- to mid-1900s, bringing financial opportunities to the fledgling town. The City of Woodinville was officially incorporated on March 31, 1993.
