graphicWelcome to Putnam County West Virginia! And what a welcome we extend to you. Even the names of our towns describe our attitudes and philosophy. You can drive through "Confidence", "Paradise" and "Liberty" in one trip through the rolling countryside. Or come home to "Hometown." Last of all, you can get your "second wind" while visiting the quaint shops in Hurricane. It’s all on the map!

In the 19th century, Putnam County was formed from Kanawha and Cabell counties, and with the construction of the interstate in the late 1950’s, it quickly became the place where Charleston and Huntington meet! That’s why Putnam County can offer all the amenities of a metropolitan area combined with the relaxed atmosphere of suburban and country living.
