Antigo offers a full component of quality healthcare to area residents.
Langlade Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed acute care, JCAHO accredited Catholic hospital including a five-bed special care unit, state-of-the-art laboratory services, an eight-bed ambulatory care unit, a modern and well-equipped surgical department, a rehab clinic, obstetrical serving a population of about 25,000 people. We offer a wide range of services, a walk-in clinic and an active emergency room.
Other services include cancer treatment, pain, cardiology, orthopedic, ophthalmology, urology and neurology clinics, a sleep lab and birthing suites. The facility also offers physical therapy, dietary services, breast screening and exam education center, vascular surgery, and speech, occupational and respiratory therapies. The Radiology Clinic offers the latest in diagnostic and treatment services including magnetic resonance imaging, CT scans, mammography, nuclear medicine and ultrasound.
The medical staff consists of family practitioners, general internists, general surgeons, anesthesiologists and orthopedic surgeons. Our staff is complemented by pathology, radiology, urology, cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology, audiology, allergy, vascular surgery, orthopedic and oncology consulting specialists. Presently, we have over 32 active and 38 consulting medical staff members.
Outreach programs include sponsorship of numerous support groups including grief, cancer, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, stroke and several other conditions. Lamaze childbirth training, prenatal education, smoking cessation classes and heart healthy club are some of the programs also offered in addition to adult day healthcare, independent living apartments, an assisted living facility and a Hospice program.
The hospital employs over 400 people, admits 1,500 inpatients annually, performs more than 34,000 outpatient procedures and about 1,500 surgical procedures annually. Our Emergency Department treats over 11,000 patients each year and has full-time emergency physicians available on site 24 hours per day, seven days a week. The Walk-in Clinic, which opened in August of 1999, averages about 600 visits per month.
Antigo is also served by two other medical clinics. Three nursing homes provide short and long-term rehabilitative care with six others located in Langlade County. The city also houses four retirement centers and communities offering independent living, assisted living and 24-hour nursing care.
