Ashland also provides stores for daily needs. A quick sampling includes stores that feature outdoor equipment and clothing, antiques, home improvement, building supplies, furniture, crafts, gifts, floral creations, jewelry, men and women's clothes, shoes, hardware, fishing gear, books, and electronics.

In addition to the supermarkets, Ashland's Chequamegon Food Cooperative is a source of organic and natural foods. A friendly staff can steer customers to bulk food, produce, cheese, vitamins, herbs and spices.

The White Winter Winery specializes in mead (honey wine). The winery and gift shop in Iron River is open daily in the summer.

The New England Store is Ashland's oldest business, circa 1888. It is located in the historic Bardon building, which was built in 1884. People can find a variety of gifts, jewelry, collectibles and home decor here.
