Opportunities abound for visitors and residents alike to spend relaxing during their free time hours. No matter the season there is something for everyone. If fishing is your favorite pastime, the waters of the Pigeon, Embarrass, and Wolf Rivers are accessible within minutes. Formed by the glaciers of the last ice age, the Navarino Wildlife Area consists of 14,500 acres providing beautiful scenery and trails for hiking, wildlife watching, hunting and cross-country skiing.
Whatever the season, the Park and Recreation Department offers an extensive variety of activities for the young and young at heart in its numerous picturesque parks and facilities. If looking to the past is your avocation, visit Pioneer Park adjacent to downtown. The Clintonville Area Historical Society hosts open houses at the History House, the first town hall and fire department, and a stavemaker cabin. One of the most unique collections of stones found anywhere in the United States can be found in Pioneer Park, including a section of the Great Wall of China. At the FWD museum, walk into the workshop where the first four-wheel drive cars and trucks were invented.
Festivals and events celebrating our rich agricultural, aviation, and truck heritage provide exciting, family entertainment for residents and visitors throughout the four seasons. For additional information, contact the Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce at (715) 823 - 4606.
