There’s no need to be bored in New Berlin, Wisconsin. In this sprawling city of 40,000, there is plenty to see and do.

The young and the young-at-heart will find room to explore and kick up their heels at 14 city parks. Many come equipped with a fascinating array of accoutrements like tennis courts, picnic shelters, playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts, an archery range, a fire pit, sledding hills, a soap box derby track, baseball/softball diamonds, walking trails, a disc golf course, a fishing pier, soccer field, historic museum and a community center.

The new, community-built playground at Malone Park gives children of all abilities an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors with one another. Such beautiful open green spaces serve as the sites for family reunions, friendly outings and community events like the annual July Fourth Festival, summer concerts and harvest festivals.

You can even perfect your swing at the New Berlin Hills Golf Course (park). Established in 1907, this historic 18-hole public course has hosted several state tournaments and served as one of the qualifying Milwaukee golf courses for the PGA Tour’s Greater Milwaukee Open.

Pining for a night out? You’ll sit on the edge of your seat during any number of spectacular stage productions held at West Performing Arts Center.

You will also want to leave time to see Boerner Botanical Gardens, the Milwaukee County Zoo and a host of public museums and attractions nearby.

And, don’t miss a stop to the Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club in New Berlin. Travel back in time as you view model railroading at its best at this historic toy train depot. Young thrill-seekers will also enjoy scaling the rock wall and bouncing in the foam pit and on trampolines at New Berlin’s Helium Trampoline & Indoor Adventure Park.

As for shopping options, there are many! New Berlin is just a stone’s throw from many of the area’s incredible shopping malls including Mayfair Mall, Brookfield Square Mall, Southridge Mall and the Corners of Brookfield.

Once you work up your hunger, you can tickle your taste buds at many of New Berlin’s beloved restaurants, like Armeli’s Restaurant & Pizzeria, Matty’s Bar & Grille and The Peachtree Restaurant.

Living in New Berlin means enjoying all that this unique town has to offer, including a visit to the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds for the annual state fair in Milwaukee in late summer, and selecting from fresh, locally grown and produced goods during the New Berlin Farmers’ Market (held each Saturday, May through October).
