New London has a state-recognized progressive K through 12 school system. The student-centered curriculum and instruction encourages life-long learning through direct programs with vocational/technical colleges and university systems as well as an aggressive School-to-Work program. The most recent addition to the New London School District, located on a 36 acre complex, is a 223,000 sq. ft. high school for up to 1,200 students. Handschke Business Park is located on the north side of the city adjacent to U.S. Hwy 45. Several national retailers, such as Wal-Mart and True Value Hardware, are across the street from the park. There are 40 acres available; all lots are fully developed.
To meet the future demand, the city of New London will soon open a new industrial park located on the northeast side of town. The park will encompass approximately 200 acres, have easy access to U.S. Hwy 45 and be serviced by sewer and water.
