contentsRichland Center WI Chamberads

Transportation & Location

Richland Center, the only incorporated community in Richland County, is situated halfway between La Crosse and Madison, within the Ocooch Mountain region of southwest Wisconsin. This position also places it at the mid-point between the big-city markets in Chicago, IL, and Minneapolis, MN.

U.S. Route 14 and Wisconsin Highway 80 intersect in Richland Center, providing convenient links to other major arterial highways running through Wisconsin. Running along Richland County’s southern border is the 100-mile Wisconsin Scenic Byway 60, which follows the Lower Wisconsin River from the Empire Prairie to the Mississippi River.

The Wisconsin & Southern Railroad operates hundreds of miles of track throughout the region. Lone Rock is positioned on the publicly-owned line operated by the railroad, providing increased distribution options for local industry.

Two airports are available in the area for use by the general aviation community. The Richland Center Municipal Airport is situated five miles east of Richland Center in Sextonville and features a 3,200x60-foot asphalt runway and a 1,500x100-foot turf airstrip. Approximately 15 miles southeast of Richland Center is the Tri-County Regional Airport in Spring Green. This public airport is equipped with two asphalt runways – one stretching 5,000x75 feet and the other 1,850x60 feet.
