Retirement Living

Retirees looking for maintenance-free living have the choice of a number of independent and assisted living communities, as well as skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in the Milwaukee Metro area. Locally, residents turn to such places as Hart Park Square Retirement Community, Luther Manor, the Lutheran Home & Harwood Place and St. Camillus.

Located in the charming Village of Wauwatosa area, Hart Park Square is in the middle of community life. The non-smoking community offers both independent living and assisted living facilities, including studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. At Hart Park, seniors receive an extra level of care, while maintaining their independence and peace of mind.

Luther Manor, an accredited Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), has been a part of the Wauwatosa community for more than 50 years. More than 800 residents reside on the 29-acre campus, taking advantage of independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services all in one place. In addition, Luther Manor offers an Adult Day Center, home- and community-based services, and pastoral care.

The Lutheran Home & Harwood Place also offers a full continuum of care for its residents. Located just outside of Tosa Village, the campus features independent retirement living and assisted living, coupled with options for rehabilitation therapy, skilled nursing, on-site hospice care and specialized care for the memory-impaired. Lutheran Home & Harwood Place also provides adult day services, community programs and the accredited Children’s Center.

The opportunities for senior living continue at St. Camillus, a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) also ideally positioned within Wauwatosa. Retirement living, two levels of assisted living, a dementia/memory support program, home care and skilled nursing through the 67-bed, Medicare/Medicaid certified St. Camillus Health Center are available through this facility.

Accompanying the living options of these facilities are a wide range of programming, events and on-site services. From dining programs, banking services and barber/beauty shops to church services, transportation and a long list of social activities, residents don’t have to leave the campus to enjoy all the conveniences of life.
