Welcome to Cross County

Greetings from Cross County, Arkansas, a friendly area nestled in northeast Arkansas, along beautiful Crowley’s Ridge.

Incorporated on November 15, 1862 from the counties of St. Francis, Poinsett and Crittenden, Cross County was named for Colonel David C. Cross, a man who came to be the wealthiest landowner in the area.

The region has grown greatly since its establishment, now home to approximately 20,000 residents within four charming towns: Wynne, Parkin, Hickory Ridge and Cherry Valley.

Cross County’s ideal location near major highway and its access to rail, air and port services, as well as the Memphis area, have made it an attractive site for both residential living and commerce.

Widespread recreational opportunities, excellent educational options and the medical expertise of several clinics and the area’s well-regarded Cross Ridge Community Hospital can all be found in this prosperous northeastern region.

The distinct, small-town appeal of the communities in Cross County is truly second to none. The residents and businesses of this pleasant Arkansas county are proud to call this area home. Welcome!
