Location & Transportation

The City of Livermore is located approximately 30 miles east of the San Francisco Bay in the Tri-Valley region of Alameda County, adjacent to the I-580 corridor at the junction of State Route 84/Isabel Avenue.

The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority provides WHEELS local bus service throughout Livermore. WHEELS schedules are available on WHEELS buses, at the Livermore Downtown Transit Center, the Livermore Chamber of Commerce or by visiting Call (925)4557500 for more information.

The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station is located a short distance west of Livermore. Transit service is offered to and from San Francisco and other Bay Area cities weekdays from 4 a.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 6 a.m. to midnight and Sundays from 8 a.m. to midnight. The Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) train runs to and from Stockton and San Jose, with two stations in Livermore at Vasco Road and at the Livermore Downtown Transit Center. For more information, call (800)4117245 or visit

Livermore owns and operates the 643-acre Livermore Municipal Airport located at 680 Terminal Circle. It is a general aviation airport serving private and corporate customers. The facility has two parallel runways, a 5,255-foot lighted main runway and a 2,700-foot training runway, along with 24 city-owned operations buildings.

In addition to the city’s own airport, three international airports, Oakland, San Jose and San Francisco, are within an hour’s drive.
