The Hendry County School District offers three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school in the city of Clewiston. The mission of the school board is “to provide all students the opportunity to achieve at high academic levels, equipping them to successfully pursue college or career goals.” The Hendry County School District provides quality education for all students, in a diverse, caring and safe environment, where students can maximize their academic growth and achievement.

Clewiston also features three private schools that serve the community well: Clewiston Christian School, The King’s Academy and Harvest Academy. Higher educational opportunities are available from Edison State College Hendry/Glades Center, Palm Beach State College and Florida Gulf Coast University.

Edison State is located in nearby LaBelle and is the 13th largest community college in Florida offering 18 associate’s degree programs and 10 bachelor’s degree programs. There were nearly 2,000 graduates in 2009-10, including 50 with BS/BAS degrees, and the average GPA of Edison State College transfer students was consistently above that of a student entering the Florida University System from other community or state colleges. Palm Beach State College has a location in Belle Glade and is the sixth largest of the 28 colleges comprising the Florida College System. PBSC was ranked by Community College Week as the 10th largest producer of associate’s degrees in the country and the 13th largest producer of associate’s degrees awarded to minorities. With over 100 career program choices PBSC offers a wide range of advanced academic opportunities: BAS, BSN, AS and many other certification programs for individuals who desire to sharpen their skill set and increase career options. Florida Gulf Coast University, located in Fort Myers, offers 52 undergraduate degree programs, 30 graduate degree programs, one specialist program and two doctorate degree programs. The University also claims the NCAA Division I athletics as well as over 150 student organizations and clubs.
