Madison County Education

The Madison County Board of Education operates a high school and middle school in Danielsville, and four elementary schools in Comer, Colbert, Ila and Danielsville. Hull/Sandford Elementary School in the Hull-Dogsboro area is in the process of being expanded because of the rapid growth in the southwest part of the county. A new middle school in Madison County will be completed in 2008, located on Hwy 172. A Head Start Program, a number of day care programs and several state-funded Pre-K programs are also available.

Special education classes are offered on all levels from preschool through high school, and Fine Finish Service Center located on Highway 98 provides training and services for developmentally delayed persons of all ages.

Madison County has an excellent library, which recently expanded to an area of 10,299 square feet. In addition to its fine selection of books, video and audio cassettes, computers complete with CD-ROMs and Internet access are available for public use, along with free computer classes. Two study rooms for one-on-one tutoring by adult volunteers and a large general purpose room are available for classes, meetings and social events.
