New Lenox Introduction and Overview

The Village of New Lenox is located 36 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.


The Village is approximately 10 square miles in area and is located in the center of New Lenox Township and in the east-central portion of Will County. The City of Joliet borders immediately to the west, with portions of unincorporated Will County surrounding the Village.

Mokena and Frankfort are located to the east, and Manhattan to the south. To the north is Homer Township with Lemont, Tinley Park and Orland Park to the northeast and north.

The Village of New Lenox’s current population is 25,049. The projection for the Village for 2010 is 31,790 with a projection of 101,725 by 2030.

The current population for New Lenox Township, as of the 2000 census, indicated 29,730. Today, the estimated Township population exceeds 38,000.
