Welcome to Rosemont

In little more than a half-century, Rosemont has transformed from a frequently flooded rural route into a robust Mecca of tourism, entertainment and commercial real estate, attracting visitors from across the nation and even from around the world.

While our nation’s history over the same time period has been best described as a rollercoaster ride, Rosemont has always maintained its singular sense of purpose: consistent growth and prosperity.

Thanks to the village’s late mayor, Donald E. Stephens, the longest-serving incumbent in Illinois history, Rosemont has turned vision into reality. Rosemont has consistently grown throughout the past 51 years by leveraging its proximity to one of the busiest airports in the world, Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Mayor Stephens guided the village into developing the only municipally-owned convention center and arena that return revenues without any subsidies. Additionally, he built a beautiful 4,300-seat theatre and was just guiding the construction of a $500 million entertainment district at the time of his passing in April of 2007.

Today, the next generation of leadership, Mayor Bradley A. Stephens, is continuing his father’s legacy, while implementing his own initiatives. In addition to emphasizing the importance of being focused on business, Mayor Brad Stephens and Rosemont residents put families first. A warm community of 4,220 residents who welcome an average of 50,000 visitors daily, Rosemont is a network of individuals committed to providing the best quality of products and services to visitors and fellow citizens alike.

Even with its longstanding conviction that a town should function like a successful business – an extremely high-performing one – Rosemont still manages to provide an excellent quality of life for its residents. Rosemont is deservedly proud of its high-achieving elementary school, an employees’ and seniors’ housing program, an activities center for seniors, well-equipped parks and cross-trained public safety officers.

The people of Rosemont have made a unique commercial and residential success of their village by investing more than 50 years worth of visionary yet practical ideas, savvy planning, bold action and community unity.
