Homes/Residential Living

Westmont is a great place to live. Its ideal location, excellent schools and first-rate recreational opportunities continue to attract new residents. A diversity of accommodations and lifestyles are offered here; renters, first-time buyers, empty nesters and families can all find homes appropriate for their needs. Selections include custom homes, condominiums, townhouses and much more, with ranches, split-levels, two-stories, Tudors and Colonials as popular styles in the area.

In 2000, the median price asked for houses and condominiums was $195,200 and the median monthly price asked for rental units was $740. Values have rapidly increased, as by 2004 the average sale price for a single-family home was $328,889. In 2005, real estate prices spanned from $93,900 for a condominium to a $1,029,000 custom home. While property values remain strong and new developments are constructed, the village has been careful to maintain the integrity and character of the community.

Subdivisions situated near schools and parks line the north and south ends of Westmont, while the revitalized downtown area offers townhouses with convenient access to the Metra station. Historic and traditional homes on generous lots and tree-lined streets encircle the area. This interesting blend of both city and suburban lifestyles and homes is one of the many features of this special community—there really is something for everyone in Westmont.
