Will County Location and Transportation

For residents who want to work in Chicago yet crave the affordability and convenience of the suburbs, Will County is an ideal place to live. Two major arteries run from Chicago — Interstate 55 and Interstate 80, which connects with I-57 to the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94).

Additionally, Will County has easy access to I-88 (The Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway) and I-355, making the commute to Chicago and its surrounding suburbs fast and easy.

For those who frequently travel the skies, Will County is not far from O’Hare International Airport and even closer to Midway International Airport.

Joliet Regional Airport is a unique local facility accommodating most commuter aircraft. The airport is located just 10 minutes from the City Center and provides courtesy vehicles and rental cars. Nearby lodging, restaurants and meeting facilities offer hospitality to travelers. Lewis Airport in Romeoville serves both small aircraft and private jets.

Railroad services offer both commuter and freight transportation to Will County’s residential and business communities. The Illinois Deep Waterway, or Chicago Ship Canal, is used to transport bulk shipments of a variety of manufactured goods.
