contentsWinnebao County IL Regional Planning & EDCads

Roscoe touts itself as “Growing With Pride” and its quality of life has made it the fastest growing area in Winnebago County. Nestled in the rolling hills of northern Illinois, Roscoe offers a wonderful rural setting with the convenience of a large city. There is easy access to Interstate 90 and Illinois Highway 251, and the village is just minutes from Rockford and Beloit (WI). The community joins together to celebrate at its annual three-day Roscoe Lions Fall Festival held at Leland Park.

There is a wide variety of residential housing, including older homes with character; mid-priced ranch homes in newer, well-kept subdivisions; and larger ranch and two-story homes located on picturesque wooded lots. Recently, there have been several new developments featuring apartment buildings, townhouses and condominiums. The area also has many dramatically designed executive homes located on larger wooded lots.

The education offered by area schools, including Hononegah High School is meeting the challenge of excellence and is a draw for new residents. Recreational opportunities abound, including parks, swimming pools, golf courses, forest preserves, supervised youth sports programs, and a recreational path, which joins the communities of Roscoe and Rockton along Hononegah Road.
