Hamel Rodeo

The 32nd Annual Hamel Rodeo comes to town this July! Grab your cowboy hat and don your favorite boots, saddle up and head on over to the rodeo. Hamel Rodeo is the largest rodeo in Minnesota, offering five performances running July 5th through the 8th, with two big shows on July 7th.

All five performances will include Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing and the Bull Ridin’ Bonanza, PLUS The Wild Thing Tim Lepard and the Ghost Riders cowboy monkeys. Thursday night is the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer. And, as always, there are free pony rides for the kids.

It’s no wonder professional cowboys come from both the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association, all hoping to stake a claim to the Bull Ridin’ Bonanza grand prize of approximately $7,500. The cowboys will take home approximately $120,000 to show for their expert riding skills.

A number of special events comprise the annual St. Michael Daze & Knights, a three-day community event organized by local residents, business and organizations. Held in August, St. Michael Daze & Knights is packed with fun family activities, including live entertainment, a business expo and craft fair, a softball tournament, a parade, the Inline Half Marathon, a carnival and a classic car show.
