Location & Transportation

Licking County is centrally located in the state of Ohio, just 25 miles east of the bustling city of Columbus. An expansive network of highways links the county with major markets in the state and surrounding areas with ease. Interstate 70 traverses the county’s southern border, offering a connection to I-71, I-75 and I-77. East-west travel is available via U.S. 40 and State Routes 16 and 161, while U.S. Route 62 and State Routes 13, 30, 37, 79, 586 and 661 provide north-south travel. Additionally, the Hebron Pass, a new 2.9-mile, four-lane highway has an interchange at U.S. 40.

Public air travel is available through the Newark-Heath Airport, while commercial services are provided through the nearby Port Columbus International Airport. Both leisure travelers and businesses can take advantage of the services at Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus as well. Rail services are offered through CSX and the Ohio Central Railroad.
